HA2836 Beretta 686 Silver Pigeon I, Field, O/U, 20 Ga., 2 3/4" & 3", 28"MC Bbls., (Used 99+%), $1,695

For a full page of  photographs and a detailed description click the photo above or click here.

Beretta Says:  686 Silver Pigeon I The 686 Silver Pigeon I hunting shotgun has all the functional features of our premium over-unders at a particularly attractive price. At its heart, it has the best-in-class 686 action, which is compact and low-profile while being extremely strong. Besides 12 and gauge, this shotgun is also available with beautifully scaled-down actions for 28 gauge and .410, for a true premium-grade experience. Whether you take it to an upland hunt or to the clay range, the Silver Pigeon I gives you the flawless performance and the classic looks of a Beretta. Featuring classic lines, the most-durable action on the market and the flexibility of the Beretta Mobil-Choke system, the 686 Silver Pigeon I was designed to last through generations of hunters. The Silver Pigeon I is built on the legendary 686 action, a long-standing favorite among hunters and competitive shooters. It features two conical locking lugs at mid-action, right between the barrels, giving it great locking strength and durability while keeping the action’s profile considerably lower. The advantage is that the eye of the shooter is a lot closer to the plane of his supporting hand: considerably better swing and hand-eye coordination. While not as elaborately decorated as our premium shotguns, the Silver Pigeon I has all the elegance that you can expect from a Beretta. The oil-finished stock sports a beautiful and crisp checkering pattern, and the schnabel fore-end adds to the classic flavor of this over-under. The scroll-engraved receiver is a functional work of art in itself, with its interesting geometry blending perfectly with the stock and contributing to the gun’s graceful lines. This is a shotgun that has all the elements of a treasured heirloom, without the price-tag to match.

Hero's Arms Says:  Built in 2018 this Beretta Silver Pigeon 1 Field has been shot fewer than 500 shots.  It is in excellent condition.  It has a 14 5/8" Length of Pull and weighs only 6 pounds 3.5 ounces.  It comes with 7 choke tubes, 5 Beretta Mobilchokes in Full, Improved Modified,  Modified, Improved Cylinder, and Cylinder, and two additions Briley Skeet chokes.  An excellent hunting gun, it can also be used for occasional skeet or sporting clays to practice for the season.  It is a bit light for regular clay target shooting IMHO.  The Automatic safety has been converted to Non-Automatic, the parts are in the stock should anyone wish to convert it back.

HA2827 Remington 121SB, MO-SKEET-O, Routledge Barrel, Pump, 22LR Shot Cartridge, (Refinished), $1,495

For a full page of  photographs and a detailed description click the photo above or click here.

Hero's Arms Says:  This Remington 121 MO-SKEET-O was probably built in November, 1946.  It has been refinished, re-blued and engraved with a Mosquito.  It has a Routledge barrel, the first 11 1/2 inches are .22 bore, the last 12 inches are .402 bore.  The Routledge barrel produces very consistent patterns, with few flyers, because the shot cloud has 12 inches to stabilize before exiting the barrel.  It has a tubular magazine which holds 14 rounds.  I had the Mosquito engraved whilst living in rural Quebec, where the mosquitoes are large.  When guest would come over for the evening I would get this gun out and tell them they were in charge of shooting the mosquitoes when they flew by.  It comes with a Cracker Launcher for back yard skeet fun.  Good for small varmints (also inside buildings) as well.  A unique item.

HA1178 Browning Recoilless Trap, Bolt-Action, Single Shot, 12 Ga., 2 3/4", 27"MC Bbl, (Used 96%), $1,495

For a full page of  photographs and a detailed description click the photo above or click here.

Hero's Arms Says:    This Browning Recoilless Trap was built in 1994 and has picked up some surface wear making it 96% condition.  It is a very innovative gun, ideal for the recoil sensitive shooter.  It consists of two modules.  The first module is the barrel, chamber, and bolt housing.  The second module is the chassis, consisting of the stock, outer receiver, forearm, adjustable rib and barrel guide.  Its basic concept is that a spring is cocked, and released when the gun is fired,  pushing the barrel module forward against the recoil of the shot.  This reduces recoil by what Browning claims is 72%, so it is not quite recoilless, but it is a pleasure to shoot.  Its 9 pound 4 ounce weight also helps with the recoil. Before shooting one turns the gun upside down, opens the forearm latch, moves the back of the forearm up, lowers the lever inside the forearm into a slot in the barrel module, and by pushing down cocks the spring pushing against the barrel module. Then one puts the lever back inside the forearm, and closes and latches the forearm to the gun.  This only has to be done once a day as the residual recoil re-cocks the spring while shooting.  Once the gun has had the spring cocked one uses the bolt action in the normal way.  Lift the handle and pull it all the way back, which cocks the trigger, put in a shell and close the bolt.  Call for your target and shoot. There is no safety, this gun is only loaded on the pad before shooting.  At the end of the day pull the trigger once with no shell in the barrel module and the spring will return to its un-cocked state for cleaning and storage.  The barrel is cleaned from the muzzle end. To fit the gun to the shooter and the target the recoil pad can be moved up and down, the Length of Pull can be adjusted between 13 1/2" and 14 1/2" with the four included 1/4" spacers, and the rib can be set to shoot 3", 6" or 9" above the point of aim at 40 yards.  Further details can be found in the Owner's Manual PDF.  I'm not ordinarily a trap shooter, but I shot a round of trap with his gun and it worked fine.

HA2359 Perazzi (Ithaca) Mirage Sporting Combo, Long-LOP, O/U 12 Ga. 2 3/4", 30" Ported Bbls., Briley Sub-Gauge 20-28-410 30" Tubes, Extra Trigger, Stock, Springs, (Used-Custom), Cased, $6,995

For a full page of  photographs and a detailed description click the photo above or click here.

This Perazzi Mirage was built in 1973 in Italy and was Imported by Ithaca. First it was used as a trap gun, but not used very much, then I bought it in 1992 and had Klaus Hiptmayer (now retired) carve me a stock from exhibition grade wood.  The stock was made to my dimensions, so the Length of pull is 15 7/8".  I was fascinated with the idea of a custom stock so I had the butt checkered, no pad.  I realized this was a mistake after shooting a round of Skeet with the 12 Gauge.  I think I have shot one or two rounds of Skeet with the 28 Gauge inserts in the last 20 years, so the gun is as modified. Any purchaser under 6'5" will probably want to have the stock shortened and a recoil pad fitted.  The bottoms of both triggers were engraved  by Heidi Hiptmayer (now deceased) with a Fleur-de-Lis with Serpent Entwined, which is the Hero's Arms Logo (at the top of this page), and also the Crest from the Buckner Family Coat of Arms.  In Heraldry the Fleur-de-Lis signifies purity, the Serpent signifies wisdom (after the Garden of Eden).  The 30" (760mm) barrels have sub-gauge tube fitted by Briley and Thin Wall Briley Choke tubes.  For the 12 Gauge there are five chokes, Full, Modified, Improved Cylinder and 2 Skeet.  For the 20-28-410 Tube sets each has Modified, Improved Cylinder and Two Skeet chokes.  The combo comes with a number of extras.  The gun itself comes with a non-selective trigger, the bottom barrel always fires first, so I bought a Selective Trigger assembly for it which is included.  Next, there is a set of replacement springs and firing pins, with wrench just in case they are needed in the middle of a competition. There is a Release Trigger Hook and spring so the standard trigger can be converted to a release trigger.  Finally, there is the original Trap Stock with an Edwards Recoil Reducer inside, and the original forearm.

HA2251 Charles Daly (Miroku) Kolar Skeet Combo, O/U, 12-20-28-410 28", Cased, Condition Various,  $2,995 SALE $2,495

For a full page of  photographs and a detailed description click the photo above or click here.

This Charles Daly Superior Grade was originally built by Miroku in Japan, and is essentially a Browning Citori with some differences.  I had Midwest Gun Works replace the springs, check it over and re-blue the receiver, so mechanically it is in excellent condition.  There are numerous small handling marks on the wood, and the bluing on the right side of the lower barrel has some freckling, so no one will think this a new gun.  It has a 14 3/4" LOP over a Morgan Pad, which allows for the Drop At Heel to be adjusted to the shooter's choice. Each Gauge has 2 Skeet tubes, in addition the 12 has IC/Mod/Full, the 20 & 28 have IC/IC, and the 410 has Mod/Full.  It comes with a plastic mallet, a knock-out driver and choke wrenches for every gauge.  The Aluminum Case seems Airline Proof. The 12 Gauge, empty weighs 7 pounds 13 ounces, but with the barrel weight or sub gauge tubes installed it weighs around 8 pounds 9 ounces.  On the sides of the receiver there are what Charles Daly called "Selexors", which supposedly allow the shooter to select between ejection and extraction, but I have been unable to figure out how they work, so it just ejects.  I shot a round of Skeet with the 28 Gauge Tubes installed, and everything worked perfectly - except the shooter who got his usual score.  Anyway, it's a poor workman who blames his tools.  I have other 4 gauge sets available, but this one is a real bargain.

HA2270 Kolar Max Skeet, Big & Tall, Adjustable-Comb-Ribs, O/U, 12 Ga., 2 3/4", 30"MC Bbls., & Carrier Bbls. w/ Kolar AAA 20, 28 & 410 Inserts, Americase (Used 99%), $13,995

For a full page of  photographs and a detailed description click the photo above or click here.

This Kolar Max Skeet was custom built for a big, tall right handed shooter.  It has a 15 7/8" Length of Pull, and weighs 10 pounds 8 ounces with the 12 Gauge barrels and within an ounce of that with the carrier barrels with sub-gauge tubes.   It has the Kolar LS3 competition stock configuration with 1 5/8" drop at Comb and Monte Carlo, 3 1/4" drop at Heel, 1/4" Offset to the right, and 3/4" Toe out.  Both the 12 Gauge barrels and the carrier barrels have ribs adjustable for Point Of Impact from 50%/50% to 70%/30%.  It has a hi-gloss blue receiver, a $795 upgrade from the standard nickel finish.  It comes with Kolar Chokes in Modified, Light Modified, Improved Cylinder and Skeet/Skeet in 12 Gauge.  The Kolar AAA sub gauge tubes have Skeet/Skeet chokes, with an extra Improved Cylinder choke in 20, 28 and 410.  It has nicely figured wood.  It has been serviced by Kolar and is in excellent condition. There are a few small handling marks so I rate it at 99% condition.  This is a gun for the serious skeet competitor.  Free Shipping in the original 48 states.

HA1402 Caesar Guerini Forum Sporting, O/U, 12 Ga., 2 3/4", 32"MC Bbls., As-New-In-Case, $7,995

For a full page of  photographs and a detailed description click the photo above or click here.

Caesar Guerini Says:  Description: The Forum Sporting over/under is in a class by itself, a remarkable creation that combines the legendary Italian gunmakers’ craft with technologically advanced manufacturing processes. The best highly skilled craftsmen pour many hours of hand labor and painstaking attention to detail into each Forum Sporting. Every surface is hand-polished, even interior areas you can’t see, and all components are hand-fitted to ensure flawless operation. Updated engraving on the Forum Sporting, includes more coverage and detail. The gun also features our revolutionary new full-length trigger guard that dispenses with screws for a clean, seamless look. The end of the guard terminates in a perfectly fitted skeletal grip cap, adding a touch of elegance. The Forum Sporting is stocked in premium English walnut with a hand-rubbed oil finish.

Hero's Arms Says:  This gun was sold just a few months ago, and has had fewer than 2,000 shots fire through it.  A need to pay college tuition for a child prompted it's return. This is the top of the Caesar Guerini line.  With its full coverage engraving and highly figured walnut it is elegant. It has a slight cast on (right hand) and a right hand palm swell.   It's price is a very significant reduction not only from list but also from the Club/Military/NRA price.

HA1894 Browning Belgian Superposed Grade V (Diana) 2 Barrel Combo, 12 Ga., 2 3/4" 28"IC/IC, and 12 Ga., 2 3/4" 26 3/8" SK/SK, Cased, (Used 99%), Cased, $6,995

For a full page of  photographs and a detailed description click the photo above or click here.

This Browning Grade V (Diana) combo, first sold in 1956, is in exceptional condition.  There are a few very minor dings in the wood but the bluing and engraving are near mint.  It came originally with a 28 inch barrel set, barrel 1, choked Full and Modified.  These barrels were later opened up to Improved Cylinder and Improved Cylinder (Briley choke tubes could be installed if desired to get back to Full and Modified).  The second barrel set, 26 3/8" in Skeet and Skeet constrictions, barrel 2, was installed later by Browning and numbered to the gun.  A Limbsaver recoil pad has been mounted but the original Browning pad is in the case.  The Length of Pull with the original pad is the correct 14 1/4", with the Limbsaver it is 14 1/2". It has a Prince of Wales (Round Knob) Long Tang configuration. The wood is nicely figured. The Browning case is in good condition and contains the original owner’s manual numbered to the gun.  The deeply incised engraving by Browning Master Engraver Doyen is exceptionally beautiful - I personally prefer the Grade V deeply incised engraving to the earlier and later Diana styles.  I shot a round of skeet with the 26 3/8" barrels and the gun functioned flawlessly.  This is a real collector’s dream, which could also be used for hunting, skeet or sporting clays.

HA1301 Browning Pre-War Superposed, Midas Level Upgrade, Double Single Triggers, English Stock, 12 Ga., 2 3/4" 30"IC/M Bbls., Cased, $6,995

For a full page of  photographs and a detailed description click the photo above or click here.

The receiver for this Superposed was probably manufactured in 1932, but it was first sold in 1936 for $59.46.  As it left the factory it was a standard grade with specially ordered Improved Cylinder and Modified choking, and twin single triggers. (Browning Factory Letter) Unlike most double trigger guns the front trigger will fire first the bottom then reset itself and fire the top barrel,  The rear trigger will fire the top barrel, then one must use the front trigger to fire the bottom barrel.  One can also use it just like a normal double trigger gun. It has a solid rib and the "horseshoe" bracket on the front of the forearm, which distinguishes it from later versions of the Superposed.  In 1984 it was purchased by Thomas Grogg, an engraver, who engraved it and put in solid 18 Karat gold inlays and lines.  On the left side of the receiver is a Mallard, the right side is a Canada Goose. On the pre-1936 Midas Superposed there were pigeons on both sides of the receiver, so this is not a copy or an attempt to fake being a Midas Grade, but a Midas level upgrade.  After it was engraved in 1984 it was reblued and refinished by a gunsmith who formerly ran the Browning refinishing shop. There was some cracking in the finish of the stock, as was normal for Brownings of that era, so it was refinished with an oil finish by Klaus Hiptmayer who also refreshed the engraving. There is probably more than a thousand dollars worth of gold in this gun.  Grogg's signature is on the lower right side of the receiver just behind the pivot pin.  It has two recoil pads, a Pachmayr Old English, and a Browning Vent Rubber pad.  I purchased it from Grogg. The gun has had about 200 rounds fired since 1984
