HA2897 SKB 690 Field, Ambidextrous, O/U, 28 Ga., 2 3/4",  28"MC Bbls, New-In-Box, $1,189

For a full page of  photographs and a detailed description click the photo above or click here.

SKB Says:  The Model 690 box lock receiver is precisely cut by state of the art CNC machines, from a solid billet of chrome-moly steel. The locking bar is located in the base of the action. The engagement of the locking bar and the barrel lug extends across the full length of the monobloc creating a secure lock to the receiver. The 690 utilizes a mechanical trigger which is a direct engagement of each sear to the trigger connector providing a very quick and reliable trigger system that does not depend on recoil to reset the trigger for the second shot. The top tang barrel selector and integral safety allows the shooter to select the firing sequence for different hunting situations. The distinctive contour of the 690 receiver is finished in a brushed white chrome and a beautiful scroll motif engraving pattern. Small frame 28 and 410 multi-gauge sets available in 28" and 26" barrels. The chrome lined barrels have 3" chambers with lengthened forcing cones to reduce felt recoil and muzzle lift. The barrels are equipped with automatic ejectors and are fitted with an internal choke tube system. The exterior of the barrel group is highly polished then hot blued resulting in a deep luster finish. The pistol grip stock and Schnabel forend are carved from grade II Turkish walnut. The finish is a high gloss polyurethane which enhances and protects the beauty of the walnut.

Hero's Arms Says:  This new SKB 690 Field 28 Gauge is a beautiful field and sporting shotgun, at a remarkable price. Nice wood as  well.  It has high gloss blue barrels, and high gloss walnut finish, along with a white chrome engraved receiver.  It weighs only 5 pounds 15 ounces, and comes with five choke tubes in Full, Improved Modified, Modified, Improved Cylinder and Skeet constrictions.  It has a 14 1/2" Length of Pull over a solid rubber butt pad.  It can be used for upland hunting, for skeet or sporting clays.

HA2773 Caesar Guerini Revenant Field, Left Hand, O/U, 20M-30MC, New-In-Case, $13,245

For a full page of  photographs and a detailed description click the photo above or click here.

Caesar Guerini Says: Fine shotguns have always been the synthesis of art and function. Over the last 100 years some of the most iconic craftsmen have spent hundreds of hours hand sculpting steel, perfecting mechanical excellence and turning rare pieces of walnut into perfectly checkered stocks. Master engravers dedicate weeks of labor to turn polished metal surfaces of a shotgun into masterworks of art. The end result is the highest form of artistry and craftsmanship in firearm manufacturing. As wonderful and fascinating as these firearms are, they are little more than an unapproachable luxury item that is out of reach for the average hunter.

What if a company could use modern technology to make a shotgun that had the same qualities? That is the concept behind the new Revenant by Caesar Guerini. By the use of the most modern production technology and clever engineering Caesar Guerini has created a shotgun that is one-fifth the price of shotguns featuring the same features made one at a time by hand.

The Revenant starts with a round body action famous for its graceful curves and ads radiused side plates to further enhance the lines of the action. The fore-end is graced with a winged fore-end iron and inletted escutcheon surrounding the push-button release, both the hallmarks of the highest quality shotguns. A long trigger guard blends into a swept back pistol grip to make the profile of the Revenant what can best be described as “racy”. The barrels feature a tapered solid top rib and mid rib.

To further the goal of making an extraordinary firearm, Caesar Guerini turned to a world leader in fine engraving Bottega C. Giovanelli and their Director and Master engraver Dario Cortini. His vision was to create a new and original motif for the Revenant utilizing organic forms instead of a common variation on scroll. To this end he drew a design of maple leaves and branches that are both elegant and evoke a hunting theme.

Hero's Arms Says:  Spectacular wood and engraving. Just check out the photos. The solid ribs keep hunting debris out. What a fine hunting gun, also for Skeet and /sporting clays.

HA2341 Caesar Guerini Ellipse Curve, O/U, 20 Ga., 2 3/4" & 3", 28"MC Bbls., New-In-Case, $7,050*

For a full page of  photographs and a detailed description click the photo above or click here.

Caesar Guerini Says:  The world’s best shotguns can cost as much as a quarter of a million dollars and take years to make. The engraving alone can account for up to one third of the price. The result is a shotgun that combines art and function in a way that few man-made objects can match. As wonderful and fascinating as these firearms are, they are little more than an unapproachable luxury item that is out of reach for the average hunter. What if a company could use modern technology to make a shotgun that had the same qualities? That is the concept behind the new Ellipse Curve.

The Curve is based off of Caesar Guerini’s Ellipse round body action. This type of action not only provides a clean uncluttered look, but also makes for a trim profile. It’s these trim lines that make the Curve a responsive and natural pointing bird gun. Combine responsive handling with Caesar Guerini’s reputation for reliability and you have the makings of a world-class shotgun. However, that is not the whole story with the Curve. The engraving is also groundbreaking in quality. The execution is of a level that has only recently become achievable through the most cutting edge technology. It is this combination of art and technology that allows the Curve to reach this level of craftsmanship at a fraction of the cost.

Hero's Arms Says:  This is a beautifully engraved Caesar Guerini Ellipse Curve, only available from Caesar Guerini Elite dealers.  It has 28", 2 3/4" & 3", barrels with solid top and mid ribs, 5 nickel plated Selecta choke tubes in Full, Improved Modified, Modified, Improved Cylinder and Skeet constrictions. Other are available from Caesar Guerini.  I believe the lady depicted on the bottom of the receiver is Diana, the Roman goddess of the hunt, but I have never seen her in person.  It weighs six pounds nine ounces.  All in all this is an elegant hunting gun, useful also for Skeet and Sporting Clays.

HA1894 Browning Belgian Superposed Grade V (Diana) 2 Barrel Combo, 12 Ga., 2 3/4" 28"IC/IC, and 12 Ga., 2 3/4" 26 3/8" SK/SK, Cased, (Used 99%), Cased, $6,995

For a full page of  photographs and a detailed description click the photo above or click here.

This Browning Grade V (Diana) combo, first sold in 1956, is in exceptional condition.  There are a few very minor dings in the wood but the bluing and engraving are near mint.  It came originally with a 28 inch barrel set, barrel 1, choked Full and Modified.  These barrels were later opened up to Improved Cylinder and Improved Cylinder (Briley choke tubes could be installed if desired to get back to Full and Modified).  The second barrel set, 26 3/8" in Skeet and Skeet constrictions, barrel 2, was installed later by Browning and numbered to the gun.  A Limbsaver recoil pad has been mounted but the original Browning pad is in the case.  The Length of Pull with the original pad is the correct 14 1/4", with the Limbsaver it is 14 1/2". It has a Prince of Wales (Round Knob) Long Tang configuration. The wood is nicely figured. The Browning case is in good condition and contains the original owner’s manual numbered to the gun.  The deeply incised engraving by Browning Master Engraver Doyen is exceptionally beautiful - I personally prefer the Grade V deeply incised engraving to the earlier and later Diana styles.  I shot a round of skeet with the 26 3/8" barrels and the gun functioned flawlessly.  This is a real collector’s dream, which could also be used for hunting, skeet or sporting clays.

HA1301 Browning Pre-War Superposed, Midas Level Upgrade, Double Single Triggers, English Stock, 12 Ga., 2 3/4" 30"IC/M Bbls., Cased, $6,995

For a full page of  photographs and a detailed description click the photo above or click here.

The receiver for this Superposed was probably manufactured in 1932, but it was first sold in 1936 for $59.46.  As it left the factory it was a standard grade with specially ordered Improved Cylinder and Modified choking, and twin single triggers. (Browning Factory Letter) Unlike most double trigger guns the front trigger will fire first the bottom then reset itself and fire the top barrel,  The rear trigger will fire the top barrel, then one must use the front trigger to fire the bottom barrel.  One can also use it just like a normal double trigger gun. It has a solid rib and the "horseshoe" bracket on the front of the forearm, which distinguishes it from later versions of the Superposed.  In 1984 it was purchased by Thomas Grogg, an engraver, who engraved it and put in solid 18 Karat gold inlays and lines.  On the left side of the receiver is a Mallard, the right side is a Canada Goose. On the pre-1936 Midas Superposed there were pigeons on both sides of the receiver, so this is not a copy or an attempt to fake being a Midas Grade, but a Midas level upgrade.  After it was engraved in 1984 it was reblued and refinished by a gunsmith who formerly ran the Browning refinishing shop. There was some cracking in the finish of the stock, as was normal for Brownings of that era, so it was refinished with an oil finish by Klaus Hiptmayer who also refreshed the engraving. There is probably more than a thousand dollars worth of gold in this gun.  Grogg's signature is on the lower right side of the receiver just behind the pivot pin.  It has two recoil pads, a Pachmayr Old English, and a Browning Vent Rubber pad.  I purchased it from Grogg. The gun has had about 200 rounds fired since 1984

Browning Says:  RECEIVER Lightweight alloy with steel breech face and hinge pin • Low-Profile • Silver nitride finish • Accented, high-relief Engraving BARREL Ventilated top rib ACTION Fire Lite Mechanical Trigger system • Hammer ejectors • Top-tang barrel selector/safety STOCK Gloss oil finish Grade II/III Walnut with close radius pistol grip FEATURES Vector Pro lengthened forcing cones • Three Invector-DS choke tubes • Ivory front and mid-bead sights

Hero's Arms Says:  At 6 pounds 9 ounces this is an exceptionally light hunting gun.  You could also use it for occasional clay target shooting, but its light weight would make recoil unbearable in competition.  It chambers both 2 3/4" and 3" shells in its 28" barrels, and comes with Invector DS Choke tubes in Full, Modified, and Improved  Cylinder.  It has a 14 1/4" Length of Pull over an Inflex 2 Sporting recoil pad which has a slippery top for snag free mounting.
