HA2820 Browning Citori White Lightning, Ambidextrous, O/U, .410 Bore, 2 1/2" & 3", 28"MC Bbls., NIB, $2,295

For a full page of  photographs and a detailed description click the photo above or click here.

Browning Says:   2019 SHOT Show Special — Lightning styling, with broad coverage engraving, extended Midas Grade choke tubes, configured for hunting and sporting clays. Oil finish, Grade III/IV walnut, lightning-style stock with Inflex recoil pad.  Intricate, broad coverage engraving. Ivory bead sight and mid-bead. Three black deluxe extended Midas Grade choke tubes included (F, M, IC). Ideal for hunting/sporting clays.

Hero's Arms Says:   Browning has kept the name White Lightning, but there are numerous changes in this 2020 model.  It has a higher grade of nicely figured black walnut than before, it has almost full coverage of a new engraving pattern, it has Ivory colored front and mid beads, it has extended choke tubes, it seems to have slight palm swells on both the right and left sides, and it has a significantly higher price.  Many of the changes seem to move it from being primarily a field gun towards making it more of an all around field and clays gun.  The Length of Pull is 14 1/8" over an Inflex II recoil pad. I have a few 1/4" and 1/2" Inflex II spacers and 1/2" recoil pads so the LOP could be made longer if desired.  It has no cast so it is equally useful for a right or left handed shooter.

HA1178 Browning Recoilless Trap, Bolt-Action, Single Shot, 12 Ga., 2 3/4", 27"MC Bbl, (Used 96%), $1,495

For a full page of  photographs and a detailed description click the photo above or click here.

Hero's Arms Says:    This Browning Recoilless Trap was built in 1994 and has picked up some surface wear making it 96% condition.  It is a very innovative gun, ideal for the recoil sensitive shooter.  It consists of two modules.  The first module is the barrel, chamber, and bolt housing.  The second module is the chassis, consisting of the stock, outer receiver, forearm, adjustable rib and barrel guide.  Its basic concept is that a spring is cocked, and released when the gun is fired,  pushing the barrel module forward against the recoil of the shot.  This reduces recoil by what Browning claims is 72%, so it is not quite recoilless, but it is a pleasure to shoot.  Its 9 pound 4 ounce weight also helps with the recoil. Before shooting one turns the gun upside down, opens the forearm latch, moves the back of the forearm up, lowers the lever inside the forearm into a slot in the barrel module, and by pushing down cocks the spring pushing against the barrel module. Then one puts the lever back inside the forearm, and closes and latches the forearm to the gun.  This only has to be done once a day as the residual recoil re-cocks the spring while shooting.  Once the gun has had the spring cocked one uses the bolt action in the normal way.  Lift the handle and pull it all the way back, which cocks the trigger, put in a shell and close the bolt.  Call for your target and shoot. There is no safety, this gun is only loaded on the pad before shooting.  At the end of the day pull the trigger once with no shell in the barrel module and the spring will return to its un-cocked state for cleaning and storage.  The barrel is cleaned from the muzzle end. To fit the gun to the shooter and the target the recoil pad can be moved up and down, the Length of Pull can be adjusted between 13 1/2" and 14 1/2" with the four included 1/4" spacers, and the rib can be set to shoot 3", 6" or 9" above the point of aim at 40 yards.  Further details can be found in the Owner's Manual PDF.  I'm not ordinarily a trap shooter, but I shot a round of trap with his gun and it worked fine.

Browning Says:  This is it. The baseline standard for an industry that craves top performance. The new Citori 725 is the evolution of John M. Browning’s legendary B25 Superposed, now with the modern performance advantage of a Low-Profile receiver. The new 725 receiver is significantly lower than other Citori 12 gauge receivers, yet the 725 shares the renowned durability of generations of Citori
over and unders with the same rugged full-width hinge pin and tapered locking bolt design. Balance, form and a large dose of excellence. With a 725, you get the "one with the gun" feeling you want, with the long lasting durability you expect from a Browning over and under. And the features don't stop there. The 725 showcases an all-new Mechanical Trigger (FireLite) that offers unmatched feel and lighter pull weights than ever before. Inflex Technology has also been added to make shooting more comfortable. Experience the benefits these improvements can do for your shooting with a new Citori 725.

Hero's Arms Says:  This is an attractive 12 Gauge Sporting gun.  It has attractive wood, an Inflex II Sporting Recoil Pad, a 14 13/16" Length Of Pull (somewhat adjustable by moving the trigger).  It comes with five Invector DS Choke tubes in Full, Improved Modified, Modified, Improved Cylinder and Skeet constrictions.

HA1894 Browning Belgian Superposed Grade V (Diana) 2 Barrel Combo, 12 Ga., 2 3/4" 28"IC/IC, and 12 Ga., 2 3/4" 26 3/8" SK/SK, Cased, (Used 99%), Cased, $6,995

For a full page of  photographs and a detailed description click the photo above or click here.

This Browning Grade V (Diana) combo, first sold in 1956, is in exceptional condition.  There are a few very minor dings in the wood but the bluing and engraving are near mint.  It came originally with a 28 inch barrel set, barrel 1, choked Full and Modified.  These barrels were later opened up to Improved Cylinder and Improved Cylinder (Briley choke tubes could be installed if desired to get back to Full and Modified).  The second barrel set, 26 3/8" in Skeet and Skeet constrictions, barrel 2, was installed later by Browning and numbered to the gun.  A Limbsaver recoil pad has been mounted but the original Browning pad is in the case.  The Length of Pull with the original pad is the correct 14 1/4", with the Limbsaver it is 14 1/2". It has a Prince of Wales (Round Knob) Long Tang configuration. The wood is nicely figured. The Browning case is in good condition and contains the original owner’s manual numbered to the gun.  The deeply incised engraving by Browning Master Engraver Doyen is exceptionally beautiful - I personally prefer the Grade V deeply incised engraving to the earlier and later Diana styles.  I shot a round of skeet with the 26 3/8" barrels and the gun functioned flawlessly.  This is a real collector’s dream, which could also be used for hunting, skeet or sporting clays.

HA1301 Browning Pre-War Superposed, Midas Level Upgrade, Double Single Triggers, English Stock, 12 Ga., 2 3/4" 30"IC/M Bbls., Cased, $6,995

For a full page of  photographs and a detailed description click the photo above or click here.

The receiver for this Superposed was probably manufactured in 1932, but it was first sold in 1936 for $59.46.  As it left the factory it was a standard grade with specially ordered Improved Cylinder and Modified choking, and twin single triggers. (Browning Factory Letter) Unlike most double trigger guns the front trigger will fire first the bottom then reset itself and fire the top barrel,  The rear trigger will fire the top barrel, then one must use the front trigger to fire the bottom barrel.  One can also use it just like a normal double trigger gun. It has a solid rib and the "horseshoe" bracket on the front of the forearm, which distinguishes it from later versions of the Superposed.  In 1984 it was purchased by Thomas Grogg, an engraver, who engraved it and put in solid 18 Karat gold inlays and lines.  On the left side of the receiver is a Mallard, the right side is a Canada Goose. On the pre-1936 Midas Superposed there were pigeons on both sides of the receiver, so this is not a copy or an attempt to fake being a Midas Grade, but a Midas level upgrade.  After it was engraved in 1984 it was reblued and refinished by a gunsmith who formerly ran the Browning refinishing shop. There was some cracking in the finish of the stock, as was normal for Brownings of that era, so it was refinished with an oil finish by Klaus Hiptmayer who also refreshed the engraving. There is probably more than a thousand dollars worth of gold in this gun.  Grogg's signature is on the lower right side of the receiver just behind the pivot pin.  It has two recoil pads, a Pachmayr Old English, and a Browning Vent Rubber pad.  I purchased it from Grogg. The gun has had about 200 rounds fired since 1984

HA2060 Browning Citori 725 Sporting, O/U, 28 Ga., 2 3/4", 30"MC Bbls., New-In-Box, $2,695

For a full page of  photographs and a detailed description click the photo above or click here.

Browning Says:  Signature 725 rounded fore arm with subtle palm rest is both comfortable and stylish. HiViz Pro-Comp fiber-optic front sight and ivory mid-bead sight for excellent target acquisition even in low-light conditions.  Five Invector Midas extend choke tubes (Full, Improved Modified, Modified, Improved Cylinder, Skeet) Beautiful gloss oil finish Grade III/IV Walnut. Gold accented Engraving. The Low-Profile steel receiver of the Citori 725 is a triumph of modern design without sacrificing traditional strength, keeping the full-hinge pin and tapered locking bolt design that makes a Citori superior to weaker trunnion designs. The silver nitride finish on the receiver is as tough as it is beautiful. Ventilated top rib provides a horizontal sighting plane, reduced heat mirage, and a classic sporting look. Ventilated side rib reduces overall weight and aids in barrel cooling. Vector Pro lengthened forcing cones provide improved shot patterns and superior durability, even with steel shot. The Fire Lite Mechanical Trigger system design features reduced take up, a crip break, and shorter overtravel, resulting in a high performance trigger that doesn't require intertia to reset. Hammer ejectors quickly and reliably clear the chambers for quick reloading. Top-tang barrel selector/safety allow you to verify the status of the gun without unshouldering it. Close radius pistol grip and palm swell with detailed checkering and classic lines for beauty without sacrificing function. Inflex II recoil pad absorbs and deflects recoil away from the shooter's cheek, allowing you to shoot comfortably for longer periods of time.

Hero's Arms Says: This is the first of the 28/410 725 Sportings I have seen.  It shares numerous important features with the 12 and 20 Gauge 725s, but it uses standard Invector chokes, in this case Midas extended chokes in Full, Improved Modified, Modified, Improved Cylinder, and Skeet Constrictions.  The stock has a very slight, 1/8" Cast Off (Right) by my measurement, but this is probably warped wood as to the best of my knowledge Browning doesn't offer stocks with cast. It has a 14 7/8" Length of pull, changeable to 14 3/4" to 15 1/8" by moving the trigger.  It comes with three triggers, Hi/Viz sight inserts and a choke toool.  It has nicely figured wood, and would be an attractive and reliable shotgun for skeet of sporting clays.

HA2045 Browning Cynergy Field,  O/U, 12 Ga. 2 3/4" & 3", 28"MC, New-In-Box, $1,595

For a full page of  photographs and a detailed description click the photo above or click here.

Browning Says:  Modern lines, classic looks, 100% performance The Cynergy made technological bounds with the invention of it's low profile MonoLock hinge, and innovative recoil pad. It has long appealed to a younger generation of shooters with it's contemporary looks. The Cynergy field takes the technological advantages and looks, and tempers them with a more traditional style recoil pad that will allow for customizing the length of the stock to the shooter.

Hero's Arms Says:  This Browning Cynergy Field is good for hunting or clay target sports. It has engraved game scenes on the receiver.  It comes with three Invector Plus flush chokes in Full, Modified and Improved Cylinder, and others are easy to find.  This is a good all around gun at an excellent price.

HA1796 Browning Citori 725 Feather, O/U, 12 Ga., 2 3/4" & 3", 28"MC InvDS, Bbls., NIB, $2,395

For a full page of  photographs and a detailed description click the photo above or click here.

Browning Says:  RECEIVER Lightweight alloy with steel breech face and hinge pin • Low-Profile • Silver nitride finish • Accented, high-relief Engraving BARREL Ventilated top rib ACTION Fire Lite Mechanical Trigger system • Hammer ejectors • Top-tang barrel selector/safety STOCK Gloss oil finish Grade II/III Walnut with close radius pistol grip FEATURES Vector Pro lengthened forcing cones • Three Invector-DS choke tubes • Ivory front and mid-bead sights

Hero's Arms Says:  At 6 pounds 9 ounces this is an exceptionally light hunting gun.  You could also use it for occasional clay target shooting, but its light weight would make recoil unbearable in competition.  It chambers both 2 3/4" and 3" shells in its 28" barrels, and comes with Invector DS Choke tubes in Full, Modified, and Improved  Cylinder.  It has a 14 1/4" Length of Pull over an Inflex 2 Sporting recoil pad which has a slippery top for snag free mounting.
