This Winchester Select Model 101 looks very much like the 101 Winchester imported from Japan from 1961 to 1987, but this one is made in Belgium by Fabrique National (which made the Browning Superposed) and has an action similar to the other Winchester Select shotguns, with a Beretta style lockup. As a 12 Gauge which takes 2 3/4" & 3" shells in 28" barrels with Invector Plus choke tubes (Full, Modified, Improved Cylinder supplied Skeet Available) and a non-Automatic safety, this is very much an all-around gun suitable for hunting or clay target sports. It has a fairly short Length Of Pull, at 14 3/16", and no cast, so it would best fit a slightly shorter than average shooter, either right or left handed. It's list price is $2,061 but Hero's Arms got a deal on it so we are selling it for only $1,475, probably less than anybody else. It comes with a Lifetime Replacement warranty from Davidson's. HA533 Winchester 101 3 Gauge Skeet Set, 20-28SK, 28-28SK, 410-28SK, (Used 98%), Case, $3,195

This Winchester 101 has had only two owners, both known to me, and had not been used for the last 20 years when I bought it. It is in excellent mechanical condition, I have shot four rounds of skeet using all the barrels. The bluing shows a little wear at the muzzle from being inserted in the case, and on the sharp edges under the receiver from being carried, otherwise the metal is in excellent condition. The stock shows some lines and creases, though none have penetrated the finish. Overall I rate it at 98% condition. It will provide years of service on the skeet field. It weighs only 7 pounds making it ideal for a smaller shooter. It currently has a 14 1/4" Length Of Pull over an old White Line recoil pad, but this pad could be replaced with a new one of a thickness which would produce almost any LOP desired. This is a very nice and functional three gauge set.

HA498 Winchester 101 Pigeon-Presentation Trap O/U, 12 Ga. 30"F/IM, Refinished, Cased, $3,950

This is a rare and beautifully engraved Winchester 101 Pigeon-Presentation Grade trap gun. The wood has been professionally refinished by Klaus Hiptmayer and the gun is in exceptional condition. I call it a Pigeon-Presentation Grade because I am unable to find reference to a Pigeon Grade with the gold and silver inlays that are in this particular pattern, which is the Presentation grade pattern. The ordinary 101 Pigeon Grade has a silver finish receiver, and the Super Pigeon Grade has different birds on the two sides. It comes in a new, fitted solid leather case with space for snap caps and cleaning supplies, straps, and with a canvas cover to protect the case. Have a look at the details of the engraving and the gold and silver inlays and you will see why this is the rival of the Browning Midas grade. This would make a wonderful present for yourself, or for someone you wish to honor.

HA148 Winchester Select Energy Sporting Adjustable Comb O/U 12 Ga. 28" Bbls, $1700

Winchester's evolving follow-on to the 101 has taken another step with this Select Sporting Energy Adjustable 12 Gauge over/under shotgun. With its distinctive checkering pattern in ovals and its matt/gloss receiver and matt barrels it is instantly recognizable. The barrels are chambered for 2 3/4" shells and are overbored to .739 to reduce felt recoil and improve patterning. The 28 inch barrels are ported and have Invector Plus chokes (Full, Modified, and Improved Cylinder Supplied, others readily available). The Length of Pull is 14 7/8" but the trigger can be adjusted in two positions to alter this. The stock has a right hand palm swell on a close radius pistol grip and an adjustable comb which can alter the cast on or off, and adjust the drop to the shooters choice. The hard case includes tools for adjusting the comb of the stock, a choke wench, extra inserts for the Truglo front sight, and chamber locks. The lock-up is similar to a Beretta, and the gun balances right at the hinge point. The Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price is $2,030 but Hero's Arms is offering it at only $1,700.

HA96 Winchester 101 Field Grade O/U 30 inch Bbls M/LM $825

This Winchester 101 is in very good condition, it has a pattern of marks on the top of the stock at the heel which may have come from hitting a hearing protector, and a 3/8" long crack in the forearm between the front screw and the iron. If has a bit of wear on the bluing on the bottom of the receiver. It is listed as Full over Modified Chokes, but I read it as Modified over light Modified (Constrictions of .018 and .015).
