FIREARMS SAFETY

Some of the guns listed here are used, some are very old and should not be used with modern ammunition.  Due to the number of variables not under the control of Hero's Arms these guns are not warranted  to be suitable for any particular purpose.  Older guns should be checked out by a competent gunsmith before being fired.

Holds

If you have decided that you want to purchase a gun call me (802-372-4789), or E-mail me, taylor@herosarms.com, and give me the gun’s stock number (HA999) and your name, address, phone number, and e-mail address.. I will check to see if it is already on “Hold,” and, if not, put it on “Hold” for you. A “Hold” lasts for 7 days. During those 7 days I will not sell the gun to anyone else, and I will call or E-mail you to verify that you are still interested if I get another offer. If I have not heard from you after 7 days, (either a request for another 7 day hold, or Cashier’s Check and Signed-In-Ink FFL) I will assume you have changed your mind and the “Hold” will expire.

Payment:

Hero's Arms accepts Visa and MasterCard  but they do not earn the 5% cash-equivalent discount that is in our posted prices. Thus Orders Paid by Credit card will be 5% more than the listed price. Call us to make a credit card purchase at 802-372-4789.

 credit card logos

Credit Card Checks are accepted as regular personal checks.  Orders accompanied by a postal money order or cashier's check will be shipped immediately, regular checks will be held for a week for clearance. (If you can access your account electronically and e-mail Hero's Arms an image of the cleared check (or call and tell us what the stamp on the back says) we will ship immediately after we receive the image or information - this may reduce the delay to a few days).

Hero's Arms accepts Wire Transfers, but as the bank charges $10 for an incoming Wire Deposit add $10 to the cost of the gun and shipping.  If you wish to pay by wire transfer I will e-mail you the necessary information.

Pricing Policy

Hero's Arms works diligently to sell firearms at the lowest possible price consistent with staying in business.  Our mark-up is quite minimal, and if you compare our prices with others you will find we are usually lower, but, if not, you can always buy from the lower cost seller.  Most of our guns go up in value every year, so we have no motivation to sell-off inventory below cost.  We do not bargain, the listed price is the "best" price.

Some states now, by law, require transfer dealers (FFL holders) to collect "Use Tax" which is the same as Sales Tax even thought the sale took place out of state.  Please do not ask us to alter the Invoice price in order to reduce the "Use Tax" as this would be fraudulent.

Pick-Up at Hero's Arms:

Firearms picked up at Hero's Arms in South Hero, Vermont, will have Vermont's 6% Sales Tax added. For a long gun you must be over 18 years of age and be legally eligible to possess firearms.  (For a handgun the age is 21).  For the background check bring with you a government issued photo ID showing your current physical address, such as a driver’s license.  If your Driver’s License does not show an address, only a Post Office Box number, you must bring a second government issued document showing your name and physical address, for example, a copy of your property tax bill.

NIB = New-In-Box,  NIC = New-In-Case

Means the gun is absolutely brand new.  When it arrived I went through my standard procedure.  I opened the box, checked the gun for marks or damage, sprayed it with Rem-Oil, wiped it down, sprayed Rem-Oil in the barrels and ran patches through to remove shipping grease, assembled it, took photographs of it, weighed and measured it, made up a web page for it, and put it in a safe.  When your funds and FFL come I will take it out of the safe, pack it in the original box or case, put this in another box and ship it to your FFL Dealer by fully insured UPS Ground, e-mailing you the tracking number.

Shipping:

For residents of states other than Vermont, ordering by mail, the firearms must be shipped to a Federal Firearms License (FFL) holder in their state who will carry out the F. B. I. background check before delivering the firearm.  In order to ship a firearm to a FFL holder in another state a current, signed-in-ink copy of their FFL must be mailed (Hero's Arms, P. O. Box 320, South Hero, VT. 05486-0320 (Postal Mail Address), Hero's Arms, 34 Town Line Road, South Hero, VT. 05486 (UPS-FedEx Address) or Faxed (802-372-5900) or sent by E-mail to sales@herosarms.com as a JPG or Adobe PDF attachment.   All FFLs will be verified by FFLeZCheck.

California:  Hero's Arms is enrolled in the California Firearms Licensee Check (CFLC) program.  In order to get the Firearms Shipment Approval Letter, needed for every individual shipment to California, the FFL Dealer in California must supply Hero's Arms with their 5 digit Centralized List (CL) number in addition to a signed copy of their FFL.

Firearms will be shipped, insured, by UPS Ground.  The packing and shipping fee is $30. (in the 48 States) which just covers the average cost of shipping and insurance.  Exceptionally heavy guns, such as multi-barrel sets in cases will have shipping individually calculated.  If you want a faster service the actual cost will be charged.

Seven-Day Return Privilege

The buyer has seven days to return merchandise from the time he/she receives the item from Hero's Arms. (Return package must be Post Office/Delivery Service dated no later than seven days after arrival of item to buyer's or FFL holder's address, i.e. if the package is received on Tuesday, the return date must be the following Tuesday). The buyer does not have to give a reason for a return and will receive a refund, but the return must be post (or freight) paid. Hero's Arms will refund the purchase price in its entirety, but not shipping costs. Merchandise returned must be in the same condition as when it was sent. (For example, New-In-Box guns must not have been fired.) There are no returns or refunds on custom work, (such as the installation of sights), or for guns that have been on Lay-Away. New-In-Box guns which have been fired can not be re-sold by Hero's Arms as "new" so they will be subject to a re-stocking charge of at least 10%, or more if there has been any damage.

In the case of firearms shipped through a third-party FFL holder, the return period will begin the day the intermediary FFL holder receives the gun. It is the responsibility of the buyer to make arrangements to examine the gun and comply with the return policy while the gun is in the possession of the FFL licensee. When federal, state or local laws prohibit its delivery to the buyer the firearm may be returned with the potential buyer paying shipping in both directions.

Lay-Away

Several customers have asked if Hero’s Arms has a Lay-Away plan. After reviewing the policies of other firearms retailers I have crafted what I think is a good plan.

1. The customer calculates the total price of the gun, that is, the price plus $30 for shipping if out of Vermont, or the price plus 6% sales tax if it is to be picked up in Vermont.

2. The customer then decides how long he needs to purchase the gun, and makes a non-refundable Initial Deposit according to the following table:

Number of Days needed to Complete Purchase Percent of Total Price for Initial Deposit
30 10%
60 20%
90 30%

3. Hero’s Arms then opens an Invoice and credits the Deposit, sending a copy to the customer. Additional payments may be made during or just before the end of the period at the customer’s discretion, and the balance owing will be updated on a new Invoice.

4. All Lay-Away sales are final and do not include an inspection period or the right of return.

5. In the event that the customer does not complete payment by the agreed upon date, the initial deposit is forfeit, without recourse, and the gun will be returned to Hero’s Arms inventory. Additional payments above the initial deposit will be returned after a sufficient period of time has elapsed to insure that all checks and other instruments have cleared.

6. When the final payment is received, along with the signed-in-ink FFL to which it will be shipped, the gun will be shipped immediately if the final payment is a Cashiers Check or Postal Money Order. If a personal check or other money order is used as payment, there will be a delay to insure that the payment has cleared. Hero’s Arms does not accept Credit Cards.

7. Essentially the customer is buying the right to purchase the gun, with the Deposit credited to the purchase, or abandoned if the purchase is not completed. This secures the gun until the customer has the funds, or compensates Hero’s Arms for lost profits incurred by removing the gun from inventory. Lay-Away is limited to a maximum of 90 days, because Hero's Arms can not buy other guns, which might sell quickly for a profit, while its money is tied up in a gun on lay-away.

Gun Locator - Davidson's

Davidson's is a firearms distributor in Arizona. Any gun in the Davidson's inventory can be purchased through Hero's Arms at exceptionally competitive prices.  They are all guaranteed for lifetime replacement by Davidson's. Pick it up at Hero's Arms, or have us ship it to your FFL (see Terms and Conditions) To buy a gun from Davidson's at my price, if you will be picking it up at Hero's Arms, fill out the Davidson's form, the price will be as listed.  If you live outside Vermont Davidson's cannot process a deposit for a gun ordered through Hero's Arms, so call me at 802-372-4789 and tell me Davidson's Item number and I will order it immediately.  If you are going to pick it up at the store (a resident of any U.S. State can pick up a long gun here) add Davidson's shipping charge and 6% VT sales Tax. For other states, to calculate the final price add $50 for two-way shipping to the listed price ($20 shipping to Hero's Arms + $30 shipping to your FFL). Then send me a cashiers check for the total made to to "Hero's Arms" along with the signed FFL. Handguns can only be picked up at the store by residents of Vermont, for non-residents of Vermont hand guns must be re-shipped to an FFL in the purchaser's state.

Davidson's Guarantee:

If the gun listing contains this logo, or lists the Davidson's Guarantee, the gun has the Davidson's Guarantee in addition to the Hero's Arms' seven day return and any manufacturer's warranty.

If anything ever goes wrong with any gun your customers buy from you that was ordered through Davidson's, it will be immediately replaced. If no replacement is available, it will be repaired at no charge to you. Simple. Your customer just returns it to you, you ship the gun to us and we take care of the rest. We provide this benefit to our dealers free of charge. And, we work fast for you -- from when we receive your customers gun you'll have a replacement in three days. The customer is responsible for paying the shipping charge - and we'll get it back to you.

Exporting Firearms

Hero's Arms does not export firearms to other countries, but will send a firearm to an exporter,  who will take care of the paperwork and shipping.  The usual $30 shipping fee applies for sending the gun to the exporter, and the purchaser is responsible for the exporter's fees and the shipping to their country.  Because of the length of time involved all export sales are final.  Here are some Exporters Hero's Arms has dealt with
