Hero's Arms Says:  The newest incarnation of the Browning Citori, the 725, has a number of changes.  The receiver is almost .2" lower than the 625 (the Cynergy is about .35" lower than the 625) while still retaining the hinge pin design.  It comes with a mechanical trigger rather than the inertial trigger in previous Citori shotguns, which has a lighter pull.  One of the biggest innovations is the Invector (DS) Double Seal choke tubes, an entirely new design, which are longer than Invector Plus tubes, and have threads at the front and a brass band at the back to seal to the barrel. The Slporting model comes with Extended DS tubes. The recoil pad, called Inflex II,  is  new technology which causes the stock to drop away from your face when the gun recoils.  It has a long forcing cone for better patterns and reduced recoil through the over-bored barrels.  To see Browning's description of all of these features click here.

This Connecticut Shotgun Manufacturing Company (C.S.M.C.) A-10 American was ordered with all the options available when it was announced.  It is Deluxe Grade, has a 20 Ga. Frame (rather than 12), has 30" Barrels, a target Forend, a Prince of Wales Pistol Grip, and Exhibition Grade Walnut.  It comes with six choke tubes, full, Improved Modified, Modified, Improved Cylinder and two Skeet (one added by Hero's Arms). As with all A-10s it has hand detachable Sidelocks.  It comes in a sturdy aluminum case with a ballistic nylon protective cover. It has a limited lifetime warranty. This one took two years and two weeks from payment till delivery.  If you were to order one of these from CSMC it would be $10,435, with these features, and I have no idea how long it would take to get.  To see a full page of description click here.

The Smith & Wesson Silver Elite Over/Under is an all-around shogun suitable for hunting or clay target shooting. It is also ambidextrous in that it has neutral cast, and no left or right palm swells.  It chambers both 2 3/4" shells for skeet, sporting clays or trap, and 3" shell for hunting.  It has 30" non-ported barrels so your hunting companions and dogs won't complain of the noise.  It has a 14 3/4" Length of Pull, from its single non-selective trigger (the bottom barrel always shoots first) to its solid rubber recoil pad.  It has a bone charcoal case hardened receiver, and a finely jeweled Monobloc. It comes with five choke tubes in Full, Improved Modified, Modified, Improved Cylinder and Cylinder constrictions, and a friction choke tool (sort of a Morse style Taper).  It has hand-cut 24 LPI checkering.  It has a front white bead and brass mid-bead sights.  It was made by Smith & Wesson in their own factory in Turkey, but is guaranteed and serviced by Smith & Wesson in the U.S.A.. The guarantee is unique, when you send in the warranty registration card you designate an heir, so the gun is under warranty for your life, plus your heirs lifetime.  This wouldn't mean much from some companies, but S&W has been around for a long time.  It apparently did not sell well at the list price of $2,380, and Hero's Arms would have been selling it at $1,895, but I have been able to get a few at close-out pricing and can sell it for half of list price, $1,195 (While they last the un-photographed ones will have free shipping).

Hero's Arms Says:  If you want to shoot skeet, this is the gun you want to shoot.  The "Ultra" in the title was a marketing term used by Browning several years ago, and it is sill in use by some distributors, it doesn't mean anything..  The adjustable trigger can change the Length of Pull from about 14 1/4" to 14 5/8".  The top of the stock is straight (1 3/4" Drop at both comb and heel) so no matter where your head falls the sight picture remains the same. At just over 8 pounds the gun will soak up the recoil from skeet shooting all day.

This Ruger Red Label Sporting was sold new by Hero's Arms a few months ago.  The owner fired 75 shots, all through the top barrel, and decided he wanted a dedicated trap gun, so traded it in for a BT99.  It has a few small abrasions on the right side top barrel near the muzzle which reduces it to 99% condition.  It comes with 5 choke tubes in Full, Modified, Improved Cylinder and two Skeet constrictions.  The 30" Barrels are overbored to .745" for a better pattern and reduced recoil.  It has nicely figured wood, and is basically a new gun.  Because the barrels are not ported it could easily be used for hunting, as well as sporting clays, skeet or trap.

This new SKB (SaKaBa) 85TTR Trap O/U has 32" barrels and comes with Seven Choke tubes: Full, Improved Modified, Modified, Modified, Improved Cylinder and 2 Skeet (Several added by Hero's Arms), a 3" Chamber which will shoot 2 3/4" shells and pistol grip stock.  It uses Briley choke tubes so they are easily available. LOP is 14 3/8" over soft rubber recoil pad, and it weighs 8 pounds 13.5 ounces. It has an adjustable comb, which allows it to be fit to the shooter and the sport. It has outstanding burl high grade wood. The receiver is cut from a forged steel ingot by computerized CNC machines to precise dimensions measured in thousandths of an inch. The final result is a low profile box lock receiver with a modified "Greener" style crossbolt locking mechanism inletted at the top of the receiver. The strength of this design ensures that it is capable of providing a lifetime of shooting. The Monobloc is also cut from a forged steel ingot by computerized CNC machines to similar precise dimensions. The Monobloc contains 2 locking lugs which engage the crossbolt, 2 integral shoulder lugs and a base lug which interlocks with the receiver as the action is closed. This combination forms one of the strongest actions on the market. The barrel tubes are seated and soldered into the Monobloc to ensure the correct point of impact of both the top and bottom barrel. Each side of the Monobloc is precisely cut for a single piece ejector and the pivot seat. This little used (99%)  B. Rizzini, imported by Sigarms, is an all around sporting clays and skeet gun which could also be used for hunting or trap.  With its nominal 30" (actually 29 5/8", or 750mm) barrels, 2 3/4" chamber, long forcing cones, chrome lined bores, and five Seminole Extended Chokes in Modified, Light Modified, Improved Cylinder, Skeet and Cylinder constrictions it is ready for anything on a skeet or sporting clays course.  For trap handicap doubles you might want to order full or extra full chokes from Seminole.  The only sign of use is a small scratch on the left side of the stock, shown in the photo.  The barrels are not ported, so it could be used for hunting.  It weighs 7 pounds, 15 ounces and has a 14 1/2" Length of Pull.  It has a small 1.5mm Hex Socket behind the trigger which is used to adjust trigger play, and it comes with a wrench.  In my opinion adjusting trigger play is one of those "If it ain't broke, don't fix it" situations. This is a high quality gun, and service is available from the current importer, Connecticut Shotgun Manufacturing Company (CSMC).  General features of B. This lightly used SKB (SaKaBa) .12 Gauge O/U has 28" barrels and comes with Full, Modified, Improved Cylinder and 2 Skeet chokes, a 3" chamber for both 2 1/2" & 3" shells so it can be used both for clays and hunting, and a pistol grip stock.  It uses Briley choke tubes so they are easily available. LOP is 14 3/8" over solid rubber recoil pad, and it weighs 8 pounds, 0.5 ounces. The receiver is cut from a forged steel ingot by computerized CNC machines to precise dimensions measured in thousandths of an inch. The final result is a low profile box lock receiver with a modified "Greener" style crossbolt locking mechanism inletted at the top of the receiver. HA1118 Miida 2200 Skeet, O/U, 12 Ga., 2 3/4", 27" SK/SK (Used 97%), $995

OK, so I didn't know what a Miida was either. Miida (Pronounced Mee-ee-dah) is a Winchester 101, but with better wood and engraving, smuggled out of the Ohlin-Kodensha plant where the 101 was made by Nikko to be assembled in a building next door and then sold in the US in 1972 and 1973 by Marubeni USA (all this according to the Blue Book entry on Nikko).  This used Miida is in excellent condition except for a crack in the wood behind the receiver on the left side which doesn't cause any trouble and seems unlikely to grow. It has beautiful, almost full coverage, deeply incised, floral engravings on the receiver and top lever.  The forearm release lever is the older, more expensive to make, two piece design similar to the Browning Superposed.  It accepts 2 3/4" shells in its 27" barrels, fixed choked Skeet and Skeet.  It has a 14" Length Of Pull over a plastic but plate, making it suitable for the shorter shooter, and of course, a recoil pad could be installed to increase the LOP.  This would be an excellent gun for skeet, upland hunting or sporting clays, particularly since a gun of this quality and appearance is rarely found selling for under $1000.

Tristar imports this gun from Turkey, and guarantees it for five years. It is very hard to find .410's with screw in chokes under $1500, so this is a real bargain. It comes with five Beretta style chokes in Full, Improved Modified, Modified, Improved Cylinder and Skeet constrictions.  It has an extractor - lifter- rather than ejectors, weighs 5 pounds, 7.5 ounces and has a 14 1/4" Length Of Pull, and 1/4" Cast Off for a right handed shooter.  It has a vent rubber butt pad, a jeweled Monobloc, and floral engraving on the receiver. It has a non-automatic safety, chrome lined bores, and a single selective mechanical trigger.  The trigger pull is heavy at 8 lbs 14 ounces, but this will probably loosen up after a few rounds. This is a lot of gun for the money, good for hunting and skeet.

HA444 Fabarms Gamma 2 Competition O/U 12 Ga. 3", 30" Tribore MC Bbls., NIC, $1,895

The Fabarms Gamma 2 Competition is an all around clay shooting gun.  It weighs 7 lbs 13.5 ounces, heavy enough to calm the recoil, not so heavy as to be tiring to carry. Its 6 position adjustable trigger allows the Length Of Pull to be adjusted from about 14 3/8" to 14 3/4".  Te forend iron, top lever, non-automatic safety and barrel selector are titanium protected, the steel receiver is coated with zirconium, nickel.  The receiver is engraved with an elegant floral scroll, and it has the Fabarms Lion Rampant in gold on the bottom. The barrels have Fabarm's "Tribore" technology.  They feature a 3 inch chamber with an extra long forcing cone, followed by an overbored (to .736") barrel, which then turns into a gradual cone, reducing in diameter from .736" to 722" over a distance of about 10 inches, before a short cylindrical area of about 2 inches just before the screw in choke tubes.  It comes with eight Titanium protected Extended chokes in Full, Light Full, Improved Modified, Modified, Light Modified, Improved Cylinder, Skeet, and Cylinder bores.  According to Fabarm, the Tribore barrel increases shot penetration by 52%.  This gun was imported by Sigarms but I don't believe they guarantee it, and there is no manual.  So the only guarantee is the 7 day inspection period from Hero's Arms.

A famous name, L. C. Smith, has been revived by Marlin with this Italian made (by Fausti Stefano) Over and Under 12 Gauge shotgun.  As with the original L.C. This Rizzini is a very well made and attractive .410 suitable for Skeet, upland hunting and Sporting Clays.  It has 28" barrels, which take both 2 1/2" and 3" shells, and come with five choke tubes in Full, Improved Modified, Modified, Improved Cylinder, and Cylinder constrictions.  It has a Prince of Wales stock with a 14 3/4" Length of Pull, and rubber butt pad.  Emphasizing its potential for use as a hunting gun, it comes with a set of sling swivels.  It has a non automatic safety and barrel selector on the tang.  It has a one year warranty from Sigarms.  Aside from Browning, there are few other 410s with interchangeable choke tubes available in today's market.
