HA568 Browning Citori Grade 7,  4 Gauge Skeet, O/U, 12, 20, 28, .410, 28"MC, NIC, $7950

For a full page of  photographs and a detailed description click the photo above or click here.

Made in a very limited production run, the Browning Grade 7 four gauge skeet set has 28" barrels. It has Grade 5/6 Walnut, gold accented receiver, and comes in a fitted leather case.  Because it has screw in Invector Plus (12 & 20 Gauge) and Invector (28 & 410) chokes (Skeet, Skeet, and Improved Cylinder in each gauge) it could easily be used for more than skeet.  It has a skeet style stock with no difference in the drop at comb and the drop at heel.  It weighs 8 pounds 3 ounces, and comes with three triggers and a 14 1/2" Length Of Pull (adjustable by changing trigger position).  Many people who buy four gauge sets do so because they can have the stock fitted once and all four gauges will have exactly the same feel. The shipping weight is 40 pounds so the actual shipping charge will be calculated to your location.

HA533 Winchester 101 3 Gauge Skeet Set, 20-28SK, 28-28SK, 410-28SK, (Used 98%), Case, $3,195

For a full page of  photographs and a detailed description click the photo above or click here.

This Winchester 101 has had only two owners, both known to me, and had not been used for the last 20 years when I bought it.  It is in excellent mechanical condition, I have shot four rounds of skeet using all the barrels.  The bluing shows a little wear at the muzzle from being inserted in the case, and on the sharp edges under the receiver from being carried, otherwise the metal is in excellent condition.  The stock shows some lines and creases, though none have penetrated the finish.  Overall I rate it at 98% condition.  It will provide years of service on the skeet field.  It weighs only 7 pounds making it ideal for a smaller shooter. It currently has a 14 1/4" Length Of Pull over an old White Line recoil pad, but this pad could be replaced with a new one of a thickness which would produce almost any LOP desired.  This is a very nice and functional three gauge set.

An alternative to cussing:

Hero's Arms frequently shoots at the Franklin County Sportsmen's Club (near St. Albans, Vermont).  A new custom has sprung up which helps to reduce the rough language sometime heard when a target is unaccountably missed.  Instead of saying F... or S... contestants are encouraged to say the name of their least favorite food, with passion.  Thus, when I miss I say "OKRA," when my friend misses he says: "TOFU."  Others have called out "ASPARAGUS," "BEETS," "BROCCOLI," "HAGGIS," "SPROUTS,"  "SQUASH," and "TRIPE."  Whatever food you passionately dislike will serve, though "ANISE" may be open to misinterpretation.  In addition to making the round more entertaining, and learning what not to offer your friends at a dinner party, it is guaranteed to make visiting competitors drop a target or two until someone tells them what is going on.  This idea  is not patented, feel free to introduce it at your club.

HA602 Franchi Renaissance Sporting Adjustable Comb, 12 Gauge 2 3/4" & 3", 30"MC Ported Bbls., Briley 20 Ga. Side-Kicks (Used 99%) $1,895

For a full page of  photographs and a detailed description click the photo above or click here.

This Franchi Renaissance Sporting has been used for a few months. It is a beautiful gun for any clay target sport, it weighs 7 pounds 14.5 ounces (steel receiver for weight and durability) and has a Twin Shock Absorber recoil pad (with a translucent Technogel insert) which has a 14 1/2" Length of Pull. Other TSA pads are available or on back-order which will give a 14.75" or 15" LOP.  It has an adjustable Monte Carlo stock which can be used to set the gun for left or right handed shooters, and for Trap, Skeet or Sporting Clays.  It has a right handed palm swell.  The sight is a lime green fiber optic for quick target acquisition.  The barrels are ported to reduce recoil and allow for a quicker second shot.  It comes with 5 choke tubes in Modified, Improved Cylinder, two Skeet and Cylinder constrictions, others are widely available as they interchange with Benelli tubes. The safety is manual, not automatic, so you won't miss a target because you forgot to take the gun off safe.  The receiver has highly detailed engraving and a gold clay pigeon on each side, with another on the top lever.  It comes cased with a stock wrench, a choke tube wrench, and oil.  A set of used 20 Gauge Briley Side-Kick inserts are included (these cost $300 new) and allow the gun to shoot and eject 20 Gauge shells.  I took this gun out for a couple of rounds of skeet, shot a 24 with the 12 Gauge and a 21 with the Briley inserts (not their fault, my usual misses).  My shooting companions told me I should keep it.

HA539 Winchester Select Model 101 12 Ga. 3", 28"MC Bbls, NIB $1,475

For a full page of  photographs and a detailed description click the photo above or click here.

This Winchester Select Model 101 looks very much like the 101 Winchester imported from Japan from 1961 to 1987, but this one is made in Belgium by Fabrique National (which made the Browning Superposed) and has an action similar to the other Winchester Select shotguns, with a Beretta style lockup. As a 12 Gauge which takes 2 3/4" & 3" shells in 28" barrels with Invector Plus choke tubes (Full, Modified, Improved Cylinder supplied Skeet Available) and a non-Automatic safety, this is very much an all-around gun suitable for hunting or clay target sports.  It has a fairly short Length Of Pull, at 14 3/16", and no cast, so it would best fit a slightly shorter than average shooter, either right or left handed.  It's list price is $2,061 but Hero's Arms got a deal on it so we are selling it for only $1,475, probably less than anybody else. It comes with a Lifetime Replacement warranty from Davidson's. (Click the GuaranteeD Logo for details:)

HA605 Weatherby Orion II Classic Field, O/U, 20 Ga. 2 3/4" & 3", 26"MC Bbls., NIB, $1,395

For a full page of  photographs and a detailed description click the photo above or click here.

This new-in-box Weatherby Orion II 20 gauge Classic Field shotgun, made in Japan by SKB, is a good all purpose gun, suitable for hunting or skeet.  It is particularly good for people who want less recoil than a 12 gauge produces. It has a high gloss finish, a 14 1/4" Length of Pull over a solid rubber recoil pad.  Its 26" barrels chamber both 2 3/4" & 3" shells, and are fitted with chokes in Modified, Improved Cylinder and Skeet constrictions. As these are standard Invector chokes, others are widely available.  A second Skeet choke was added by Hero's Arms.  The receiver is solid steel, CNC machined, with a Greener style cross-lock design featuring five different locking lugs, one of the strongest designs on the market.  The inertial single selective trigger has the firing order selector located on the trigger.  Though Weatherby does not provide a written guarantee they do stand behind their firearms. It comes with a Lifetime Replacement warranty from Davidson's. (Click the GuaranteeD Logo for details:)

For a full page of  photographs and a detailed description click the photo above or click here.

This is a beautiful, light 28 Gauge slightly used Over/Under  shotgun suitable for upland hunting, or for skeet.   With 26" barrels and weighing only 5 pounds 10.5 ounces it is fast handling and lives up to its Italian name "Veloce."  The figured walnut stock  has a 14 1/2" Length of Pull over a sporting two part recoil pad which has a smooth plastic top part to keep from snagging  clothes while being shouldered.  The receiver is coin finished with gold birds on each side.  It comes with a Modified, and two Improved Cylinder choke tubes (Briley Skeet tubes are available).  The monoblock is jeweled, the top lever filigreed.  It has a mechanical (not inertial) trigger selectable by moving the tang mounted automatic safety.  The only sign that it has been used are a couple of tiny fingernail indentations near the top of the forearm on the right side.  I shot two rounds of skeet with it with excellent results.  It would be a wonderful ladies skeet gun.

HA540 LC Smith (Marlin) Sideplate SxS 28 Ga., 26"MC Bbls., NIB, $1,295

For a full page of  photographs and a detailed description click the photo above or click here.

The newest addition to the Marlin LC Smith line, this Side-by-Side double barrel 28 Gauge is made in Spain by Zabala Hermanos, very much in the style of the old LC Smith.  It has automatic selective ejectors, a single selective trigger, screw in choke tubes in Full, Modified and Improved Cylinder Constrictions, Skeet tubes are available. The pistol grip stock has a 14 3/8" length of Pull, and a distinct Cast On of 1/4" (for Right Handed Shooters). The wood features a Fleur de Lys checkering pattern.  The action is case colored, and the side-plates and bottom of the receiver have gold accented birds in flight.  A nice touch is that the action bar, or watertable, and the mating flat underside of the barrels have been engine turned, or jeweled.  With its 26" barrels and 6 pound 8 ounce weight this is an elegant gun for upland hunting or skeet.  It comes with Marlin's 5 year warranty against defects in material and workmanship.

HA603 Browning Cynergy Classic Field, O/U, .410 Bore, 2 1/2" & 3", 26"MC Bbls (Used 99.5%), Cased, $1,595

For a full page of  photographs and a detailed description click the photo above or click here.

This almost new 2007 Cynergy Classic Field .410 has had fewer than 100 shots fired through it, 50 of which were two rounds of skeet I shot.  Its 26" barrels will chamber both 2 1/2" and 3" .410 shells, and have both mid and front white bead sights.  It came with flush Invector chokes in Full, Modified and Improved Cylinder, and Hero's Arms has added two Briley X-2 Extended Skeet chokes, a Briley Speed Wrench, and a Briley Choke Case (over $100 value). It has all the innovative Cynergy mechanical features: Monoloc Hinge, Impact Ejectors; Mechanical Trigger; Reverse Striker Ignition System; Engraved Silver Nitride Receiver; 3" Chrome Chambers; Ventilated Top & Side Ribs. It also has a classic checkered walnut pistol grip stock with a 14 1/4" Length of Pull over a plastic butt plate, and a Schnabel style forearm.  At 6 pounds 9 ounces, with a 14 1/2" Length of Pull,  it is an excellent gun for upland hunting, and is an excellent choice for an accomplished lady (or gentleman) skeet shooter. As a pre-owned gun it does not qualify for the Cynergy Club Rebate Package, so Hero's Arms has added a Browning Luggage style fitted case,  a $150 value, making a total of over $250 in additions.

This new Fabarm Competition Lion is imported and guaranteed by H&K.  It is a 12 gauge Over & Under with a Pistol Grip stock (Right Hand Palm Swell) and Ported 28" barrels.  The barrels are Fabarm's "Tribore" technology.  They feature a 3 inch chamber with an extra long forcing cone, followed by an overbored (to .740") barrel, which then turns into a gradual cone, reducing in diameter from .740 to .724 over a distance of about 10 inches, before a short cylindrical area of about 2 inches just before the screw in choke tubes.  It comes with four extended chokes  in Full, Improved Modified, Modified, and Improved Cylinder bores (Other Fabarms 12 Ga. extended choke tubes are available from Briley).   It has a 14 7/8"  Length Of Pull (further adjustable by resetting the trigger)   The receiver is silver with clay pigeons, and a lion on the underside.  It comes in a case, which may not be original and shows wear, and a choke tool. HA444 Fabarms Gamma 2 Competition O/U 12 Ga. 3", 30" Tribore MC Bbls., NIC, $1,895

For a full page of  photographs and a detailed description click here.

The Fabarms Gamma 2 Competition is an all around clay shooting gun.  It weighs 7 lbs 13.5 ounces, heavy enough to calm the recoil, not so heavy as to be tiring to carry. Its 6 position adjustable trigger allows the Length Of Pull to be adjusted from about 14 3/8" to 14 3/4".  Te forend iron, top lever, non-automatic safety and barrel selector are titanium protected, the steel receiver is coated with zirconium, nickel.  The receiver is engraved with an elegant floral scroll, and it has the Fabarms Lion Rampant in gold on the bottom. The barrels have Fabarm's "Tribore" technology.  They feature a 3 inch chamber with an extra long forcing cone, followed by an overbored (to .736") barrel, which then turns into a gradual cone, reducing in diameter from .736" to 722" over a distance of about 10 inches, before a short cylindrical area of about 2 inches just before the screw in choke tubes.  It comes with eight Titanium protected Extended chokes in Full, Light Full, Improved Modified, Modified, Light Modified, Improved Cylinder, Skeet, and Cylinder bores.  According to Fabarm, the Tribore barrel increases shot penetration by 52%.  This gun was imported by Sigarms but I don't believe they guarantee it, and there is no manual.  So the only guarantee is the 7 day inspection period from Hero's Arms.

HA517 Remington Model 332 O/U 12 Ga. 3" 25"MC Bbls., NIB, $1,450

For a full page of  photographs and a detailed description click the photo above or click here.

Now apparently discontinued, this has become a very collectable firearm. This may be the last Remington Over/Under model made in the United States. This Remington 332 is a modern version of the classic Model 32.  It has a high gloss finish on both wood and metal, making it suitable for hunting or clay target sports.  It has nominal 26" (actual 25 3/8") barrels with Remchokes in Full, Modified, and Improved Cylinder.  It chambers both 2 3/4" and 3" shells, and appears to have a long forcing cone to reduce felt recoil.  It has a 14 1/8" length of pull over the Old-English-style solid-rubber recoil pad.  The cut engraving on the receiver has the same "Pointer and Setter" motif as the original Model 32.  The barrel selector is in the middle of the non-automatic safety on the top tang.  It has an underlock Browning style design for a low receiver.  The gun goes together very smartly and looks and feels well made.  It has automatic ejectors.  Altogether, in my opinion, this is a simple well constructed gun which will give years of satisfactory shooting, or may increase in value as a collectible. It has a two year warranty from Remington and it comes with a Lifetime Replacement warranty from Davidson's. (Click the GuaranteeD Logo for details:)

An excellent gun for upland hunting or skeet.  The gun is in 98% condition, the only indication of use is worn bluing on the top of the barrel where it meets the receiver, probably from being pushed into the case.  There are a few exceedingly minor marks on the wood, but overall this will prove to be an exceedingly reliable gun for years of hunting or skeet.
