HA1321 Smith & Wesson Silver Elite Round-Body Game-Target-Shotgun, O/U, 12 Ga., 2 3/4" &3", 30"MC Bbls., New-In-Box, $1,895 SALE $1,195

For a full page of  photographs and a detailed description click the photo above or click here.

The Smith & Wesson Silver Elite Over/Under is an all-around shogun suitable for hunting or clay target shooting. It is also ambidextrous in that it has neutral cast, and no left or right palm swells.  It chambers both 2 3/4" shells for skeet, sporting clays or trap, and 3" shell for hunting.  It has 30" non-ported barrels so your hunting companions and dogs won't complain of the noise.  It has a 14 3/4" Length of Pull, from its single non-selective trigger (the bottom barrel always shoots first) to its solid rubber recoil pad.  It has a bone charcoal case hardened receiver, and a finely jeweled Monobloc. It comes with five choke tubes in Full, Improved Modified, Modified, Improved Cylinder and Cylinder constrictions, and a friction choke tool (sort of a Morse style Taper).  It has hand-cut 24 LPI checkering.  It has a front white bead and brass mid-bead sights.  It was made by Smith & Wesson in their own factory in Turkey, but is guaranteed and serviced by Smith & Wesson in the U.S.A.. The guarantee is unique, when you send in the warranty registration card you designate an heir, so the gun is under warranty for your life, plus your heirs lifetime.  This wouldn't mean much from some companies, but S&W has been around for a long time.  It apparently did not sell well at the list price of $2,380, and Hero's Arms would have been selling it at $1,895, but I have been able to get a few at close-out pricing and can sell it for half of list price, $1,195 (While they last the un-photographed ones will have free shipping).

HA1281 Benelli Montefeltro Left Handed Inertial-Semi-Auto, 12 Ga., 2 3/4" & 3", 28"MC Bbl., New-In-Case, $1.095

For a full page of  photographs and a detailed description click the photo above or click here.

Benelli Says:  Light, slender, and quick-pointing never described a semi-auto better than the Benelli Montefeltro 12-gauge shotgun. The Inertia Driven® system in these Benelli shotguns requires no springs or gas cylinder under the forend. That allows the Montefeltro’s forend to be slim and graceful, while the lightweight, anodized aluminum receiver keeps weight to a minimum. The 12-gauge is chambered for 3" magnum loads, making the Montefeltro equally at home in New England woodcock cover and a Louisiana duck blind. This is one gun that looks as good as it shoots. Stocked with beautifully finished satin walnut, the Montefeltro is the gun for the wingshooting purist who wants the feel of a classic game gun with the added advantage of a semi-auto. The Montefeltro uses the Benelli Crio chokes that sit flush with the muzzle, available in F, IM, M, IC, and C.

Hero's Arms Says:  This Left Handed Montefeltro ejects to the left and the safety is pushed off from the left.  The stock can be adjusted to have Cast On for a left handed shooter by installing the included shims.

For a full page of  photographs and a detailed description click the photo above or click here.

Tristar imports this gun from Turkey, and guarantees it for five years. It is very hard to find 28 Gauge guns with screw in chokes under $1500, so this is a real bargain. It comes with five Beretta style chokes in Full, Improved Modified, Modified, Improved Cylinder and Skeet constrictions.  It has an extractor - lifter- rather than ejectors, weighs 5 pounds, 3 ounces and has a 14 5/8" Length Of Pull.  It has a vent rubber butt pad, a jeweled Monobloc, and floral engraving on the receiver. It has a non-automatic safety, chrome lined bores, and a single selective mechanical trigger.  The trigger pull is heavy at 8 lbs 13 ounces, but this will probably loosen up after a few rounds. This is a lot of gun for the money, good for hunting and skeet. It comes with a Lifetime Replacement warranty from Davidson's. (Click here for details)

HA1118 Miida 2200 Skeet, O/U, 12 Ga., 2 3/4", 27" SK/SK (Used 97%), $995

For a full page of  photographs and a detailed description click the photo above or click here.

OK, so I didn't know what a Miida was either. Miida (Pronounced Mee-ee-dah) is a Winchester 101, but with better wood and engraving, smuggled out of the Ohlin-Kodensha plant where the 101 was made by Nikko to be assembled in a building next door and then sold in the US in 1972 and 1973 by Marubeni USA (all this according to the Blue Book entry on Nikko).  This used Miida is in excellent condition except for a crack in the wood behind the receiver on the left side which doesn't cause any trouble and seems unlikely to grow. It has beautiful, almost full coverage, deeply incised, floral engravings on the receiver and top lever.  The forearm release lever is the older, more expensive to make, two piece design similar to the Browning Superposed.  It accepts 2 3/4" shells in its 27" barrels, fixed choked Skeet and Skeet.  It has a 14" Length Of Pull over a plastic but plate, making it suitable for the shorter shooter, and of course, a recoil pad could be installed to increase the LOP.  This would be an excellent gun for skeet, upland hunting or sporting clays, particularly since a gun of this quality and appearance is rarely found selling for under $1000.

Tristar imports this gun from Turkey, and guarantees it for five years. It is very hard to find .410's with screw in chokes under $1500, so this is a real bargain. It has a non-automatic safety, chrome lined bores, and a single selective mechanical trigger.  The trigger pull is heavy at 8 lbs 14 ounces, but this will probably loosen up after a few rounds. HA444 Fabarms Gamma 2 Competition O/U 12 Ga. 3", 30" Tribore MC Bbls., NIC, $1,895

For a full page of  photographs and a detailed description click here.

The Fabarms Gamma 2 Competition is an all around clay shooting gun.  It weighs 7 lbs 13.5 ounces, heavy enough to calm the recoil, not so heavy as to be tiring to carry. Its 6 position adjustable trigger allows the Length Of Pull to be adjusted from about 14 3/8" to 14 3/4".  Te forend iron, top lever, non-automatic safety and barrel selector are titanium protected, the steel receiver is coated with zirconium, nickel.  The receiver is engraved with an elegant floral scroll, and it has the Fabarms Lion Rampant in gold on the bottom. The barrels have Fabarm's "Tribore" technology.  They feature a 3 inch chamber with an extra long forcing cone, followed by an overbored (to .736") barrel, which then turns into a gradual cone, reducing in diameter from .736" to 722" over a distance of about 10 inches, before a short cylindrical area of about 2 inches just before the screw in choke tubes.  It comes with eight Titanium protected Extended chokes in Full, Light Full, Improved Modified, Modified, Light Modified, Improved Cylinder, Skeet, and Cylinder bores.  According to Fabarm, the Tribore barrel increases shot penetration by 52%.  This gun was imported by Sigarms but I don't believe they guarantee it, and there is no manual.  So the only guarantee is the 7 day inspection period from Hero's Arms.

For a full page of  photographs and a detailed description click the photo above or click here.

The Smith & Wesson Gold Elite Side-by-Side shotgun is produced in S&W's own plant in Turkey.  It has a round action in a true bone charcoal case hardened receiver,  Its English stock has a 14 3/4" Length of Pull over a checkered wood butt on its AAA Grade Turkish Walnut stock.  Its 20 Gauge 26" side by side barrels are chambered for 2 3/4" and 3" shells, and feature fixed chokes in Improved Cylinder (.09" constriction) and Modified (.13" constriction).  The trigger is a mechanical single, non-selective type, which fires the right, more open, barrel first, then the left, tighter barrel. The gun weighs 6 pounds 7.5 ounces, and points beautifully.  It is exceptionally well finished with hand cut checkering and engraving.  The gun comes with Smith & Wesson's "Heirloom Warranty" which guarantees it for the life of the original purchaser and his or her designated heir.  A very traditional, and very elegant, shotgun.

HA750 Benelli Vinci Inertia Semi-Auto ComforTech, 12 Ga. 2 3/4" & 3", 28"MC Bbl., ANIC, $1,195

For a full page of  photographs and a detailed description click the photo above or click here.

I purchased this personally to try it out and was quite pleased, but I don't have any need for a 12 Gauge Semi-Auto so I'm selling it as Almost-New-In-Case. Its warranty has never been registered.  It has had about 50 shots, two rounds of skeet, fired through it.  There are scads of features but the ones I like are the ComforTech stock, the straight line recoil, the easy to clean Inertial action, and the modular design which will eventually allow for changing the stock and the magazine for different applications.  It comes with five Benelli Crio Chokes in Full, Improved Modified, Modified, Improved Cylinder and Cylinder constrictions.  The stock can be fitted with different combs and butt pads, and it has drop and cast spacers which can be used to adjust these measurements.  It takes a little practice to get it together and apart, and it is certainly unusual enough that you should, as I sometimes tell my wife,  RTFMD (Read The Fine Manual, Dear).
