This year has been a good one for the club. The club grounds have stayed looking good through the summer. The insurance problem has been cleared up and we have the club house available for rent again.
The club meetings starting with a pot luck followed by a speaker seams to be drawing interest. For those who missed some of the meetings, in May was Bob Shanon from the fly Rod Shop talking about fly fishing and doing a fly tying demonstration.
June was Dana, Jenny, and Christin members of the Vermont Youth Conservation Corps working at Lake Elmore State Park, who talked about the VYCC and the parks Junior Ranger program.
July was Fish and Game commissioner Wayne LaRoche with great information on Vermont wildlife.
August was the annual LVF&GC and Rotary club shoot and BBQ, when these two groups get together it is always a fun evening.
September meeting was an outdoor gear-swap meet between members.

All members are welcome at the club matches and we have some talented people in charge. I went to the fishing derby in June and Wayland and Darla Wells did a great job giving the kids as well as the parents a day of fun. For their effort they were rewarded with about 100 kids smiling in appreciation.
I went to one of Chip Boutin's 3-D archery shoots. This was the first one I have ever been to and I had a blast, why didn't I go before? Next year you have got to try one of these. Chip, with the help of his wife, set up a 30 target shoot that will leave you wanting more.
I also attended a monthly Military shooting match with Dave Allard the chair person. The match was fun and Dave puts on a good shoot for anyone who has an old military rifle in need of some exercise.
Robert Boivin runs the skeet program, I didn't make it to one of his shoots although I did try the trap at the VT territorials with a flintlock smooth bore and although I didn't hit many I had fun trying. Robert is doing something right because his attendance is always growing. Brent Allaire started the youth skeet program and what a good job, I have talked with some of the youths who really enjoyed it.
The Green Mt. Practical shooters hold a pistol shoot each month at our club, I didn't attend this year but I have in the past and this is a great way to spend the day.
Along with president I am also the chairperson for the muzzle loader shoots. We have a lot of fun at these and good attendance. The goal is to have good safe fun. The targets are all reactive so if you come to watch you don't have to look for holes to appear in paper.
The club has a lot to offer and it would be great to see everyone come out for a day of fun. That brings us to another event. At the September meeting two new members, John Schantz, and Gary Feibus agreed to put together a club day for club members only, to take place some time in June. It would be a chance to try all that the club has to offer. They are looking for ideas at this time as to targets and scheduling.

        Sincerely
         Harland Blodgett   LVF&GC  President
