HA916 Baikal Remington SPR310 O/U, 12 Ga., 2 3/4" & 3", 28 1/2"MC Bbls., NIB, $445

This Baikal shotgun was manufactured in Russia by Izhevsky mekhanichesky zavod and was imported and guaranteed by Remington. This is a 7 pound 12 ounce 12 Gauge over/under with 28 1/2" multi-choke chrome lined barrels. By turning screws on the face of the receiver a quarter-turn it can be converted from ejecting shells to lifting-extracting them, and back again. It normally fires the bottom barrel first, but if you press the trigger forward until it clicks it will fire the top barrel first. The trigger is mechanical so a dud does not keep the second barrel from firing. It has 1/4" Cast Off so it is for a right-hander. The Length of Pull is only 13 13/16" so shooters of less than average height (5'0" to 5'6") will find that it fits them well. It has a good trigger-pull at 5 lbs 11 ounce. It comes with 4 choke tubes in Full, Modified, Improved Cylinder and Cylinder constrictions, and Hero's Arms has added a 5th tube in Skeet constriction. Baikal shotguns are very reliable and strong. This is an excellent choice for a starter over/under, suitable for hunting or any kind of clay target shooting. Remington Says: The Model 1100 Sporting 12 provides timeless good looks in a light-recoiling sporting clays gun. This 20 Gauge Browning BPS Micro Shotgun is ideal for the smaller shooter, and for left or right handed shooters because it ejects shells from the bottom, and the safety is on the top of the receiver so it can be operated by either thumb. The receiver is made from forged and machined steel. The barrel is a compact 22" in length, with ventilated rib, and it has Invector Plus Choke Tubes in Full, Modified and Improved Cylinder Constrictions, others are widely available. It has a 3" chamber so can shoot either 2 3/4" or 3" shells. With the addition of a rifled choke tube it would make a handy slug gun for deer hunting. It has dual steel action bars. The stock & forearm have cut checkering and satin finish walnut. This soft-shooting semi-auto has gas operation, ported barrels to reduce muzzle climb and recoil, and the Twin Shock Absorber (TSA) recoil pad. It has a 20 Gauge 28" barrel and chambers both 2 3/4" & 3" shells making it suitable for Skeet, Sporting Clays or hunting. The stock and forearm are finished in Franchi's trade mark WeatherCoat making it impervious to weather conditions. Hero's Arms Says: This shotgun is variously called by Browning: "High Grade" in advertisements; "Grade 5" on the box; and "Elite" in gold on the receiver. It is not called "Golden Clays" though everything else with this engraving pattern is called "Golden Clays". Go figure. It has some of the most spectacular wood I've seen, far better than the Grade II/III advertised. At 8 pounds 4 0unces you are not likely to be bothered by the recoil from anything you shoot through it. The adjustable trigger gives 3/8" adjustment to the 14 15/16" Length of Pull. I'm not sure I'd want to carry this around all day for upland hunting, but for hunting from a blind, skeet, sporting clays or trap it would be hard to beat. The Invector Plus choke tubes come in Full, Improved Modified, Modified, Improved Cylinder, and Skeet constrictions. It does not have a palm swell so it is equally usable by left and right handed shooters. Mostly your friends will say, "Isn't that a beauty".

Franchi Says: The Franchi I-12 Limited effortlessly combines art and function. The upland field gun has a satin-nickel receiver, strikingly accented with inlaid gold game birds. The metalwork is complemented by a stock cut from AA-grade walnut that has been hand rubbed for a traditional oil finish. Cut-checkering on the pistol grip and fore-end create an attractive and positive gripping surface. The I-12 Limited is slender and perfectly balanced, and, like all Franchi shotguns, it is lightweight, at close to 7-1/2 pounds. It tames recoil with the Twin Shock Absorber™ (TSA) system, a two-part recoil pad with a special gel insert. The pad soaks up recoil energy and spreads the kick over the widest area possible. With TSA, felt recoil is reduced by as much as 44 percent.

Hero's Arms Says: This gun was purchased directly from Franchi, and was supposed to be used, but it didn't seem to have ever been unwrapped, so I'm selling it "As-New-In-Case" for a reduced price. It still has the warranty card and manual. The wood is very nice, Franchi calls it AA in some places and AAA in others. This gun weighs 7 pounds 2.5 ounces and has a 14 1/4" Length Of Pull, but with a replacement TSA pad (which I have in stock) the LOP can be 14 1/2" or 14 3/4". The nickel alloy receive with white gold birds is quite striking. All together this Benelli-Style Inertial action is easy to keep clean and quite reliable.

Hero's Arms says: This is a lightweight all around hunting and sport gun. Because of the Inflex recoil pad and spacer the Length of Pull can be varied by 1/4" - with short or long Inflex pads (available from Browning and on-line) the LOP can be varied from 13 3/4" to 15" making it suitable for shorter or taller shooters. It weighs only 6 pounds 11 ounces so would be easy to carry all day.

Custom Length of Pull for Cynergy Shotguns with Inflex Recoil pads purchased from Hero's Arms. The Standard LOP for a Cynergy is 14 1/4, and there is a 1/4" spacer in the box so if you want a 14 1/2" Length of pull let us know and we will install it at no charge. If you would like a 13 3/4", 14", 14 3/4" or 15" LOP the charge is $40 for the new recoil pad, installed, with or without spacer, and you will still have the original pad so the gun can be returned to the original dimensions. This range, from 13 3/4" to 15" should take care of the LOP requirements for people from under 5 feet tall to people over 6 feet tall. A young person who is growing could start with the 13 3/4 and finish with the 15" when she tops 6 feet (this would require both the Short & Long pads). This is about the easiest stock adjustment I know of.

This new-in-box Ambidextrous Weatherby Orion Upland 20 gauge shotgun, made in Japan by SKB, is a good all purpose gun, suitable for hunting or skeet. It is particularly good for people who want less recoil than a 12 gauge produces. It has a high gloss finish, a Prince of Wales style stock, and 14 5/16" Length of Pull over a solid rubber recoil pad, with no cast. This Remington 11-87 Sportsman is a good all-around gun for the shorter shooter. With its 21" barrel and 12 7/8" Length Of Pull it should fit most shooter from 4' 9" to 5' 3". With its 6 and a half pound weight and ability to cycle both 2 3/4" and 3" shells it can handle full sized loads while still having manageable recoil. Its all weather black finish is non-reflective and rugged. If the owner grows, Remington makes an adult stock that should fit this gun. Remington sells it with only one choke tube, a Modified Choke, so Hero's Arms has added four more Rem-Chokes in Xtra Full Turkey, Full, Improved Cylinder and Skeet Constrictions. A famous name, L. C. Smith, has been revived by Marlin with this Italian made (by Fausti Stefano) Over and Under 12 Gauge shotgun. As with the original L.C. Smiths it has a case colored receiver, and attractive fleur-de-lis checkering (all it needs is an entwined serpent and it would be the Hero's Arms Logo). It has a 28" Barrel, chambered for 2 3/4" or 3" shells, and comes with three screw in choke tubes in Full, Modified, and Improved Cylinder constrictions. The stock has a 14 3/8" Length of Pull over a sporting vented rubber pad. It has a close radius pistol grip, similar to the Browning 525s. With a weight of 7 pounds 13 1/2 ounces it will tame the recoil of magnum loads. It has a tang mounted barrel selector combined with an automatic safety.
